Worlds First Hydronics Snow Melt Pit
World’s FIRST, (that we know of). Here we just finished the base or floor for a snowmelt pit designed to maintain the ambient water temperature mid 60’s, after each ice resurfacing. Circulating water from the heat reject tank or hot tank through the walls and floors allows the water to heat from all sides. There is no damage to the heating coils as they are tucked neatly into the concrete walls and floors. The radiant heat from the walls above the water surface keeps the Zamboni room warm without auxillary heat.
